Wakefield Troy
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
My focus has been helping adults and teens who are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationships, and substance abuse. I can also help guide families with parenting and school challenges. I respect personal values and strive for an open-minded, practical approach to counseling. With experience in outpatient, inpatient, and school settings, I combine my clinical experience with my genuine love of getting to know people.
My approach is relational and grounded in attachment science and dialectical (DBT) and cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT), with other modalities mixed in to achieve the best outcomes. As a Gottman-trained therapist (level 2), I have a passion for helping couples increase connection for each other and decrease dysfunctional conflict.
I enjoy working with adults, adolescents and couples and feel confident addressing a broad scope of therapeutic issues. As a parent and runner, I also enjoy helping teens and families battle sports and performance anxiety to feel more confident. I would love to help you make the change you want!
